The Hawaii Ant Plan
(created by the Hawaii Ant Group)

The overall objective of the Hawaii Ant Plan PDF icon (359 kb) is to prevent the introduction and establishment of ant species not currently established and widespread in Hawaii. The immediate goal is to establish operational programs for prevention, detection, rapid response, public outreach, and plan coordination/implementation, to minimize red imported fire ant (RIFA) (Solenopsis invicta) and little fire ant (LFA) (Wasmannia auropunctata) risk to Hawaii. The current revision of the Hawaii Ant Plan (dated August 2007) was prepared by the Hawaii Ant Group.
